Organisation Background:
The ICA has championed new art and ideas for over sixty years, supporting emerging artists by providing an institutional platform in advance of more mainstream cultural spaces.

Opening Times:
Open Monday-Wednesday noon-11pm, Thursday-Saturday noon-1am, Sunday noon-9pm. Galleries open daily 12pm - 7pm (9pm on Thursdays) during exhibitions. Bookshop open noon-9pm daily ,except Sunday noon-7pm. The ICA Bar is open: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday: 12 noon - 11pm, Thursday - Saturday 12 noon until 1am Sunday -12 noon until 9pm. Food service is available: Monday, 12 noon - 10pm Tuesday,Wednesday, 12 noon-10pm Sunday, 12 noon until 8.30pm.

Transport:
The ICA is located in the heart of central London, on The Mall, and is accessible by rail, underground and road. Underground The nearest underground stations are Charing Cross, northern and Bakerloo and Piccadilly, Bakerloo and Piccadilly. To reach the ICA from Charing Cross exit the station and follow the signs for Trafalgar Square. Once at the Square head through Admiralty Arch near the south west corner. This brings you on to The Mall. The ICA is approximately 50 metres on the right hand side. To reach the ICA from Piccadilly Circus head straight down Lower Regent Street and into waterloo Place. The public entrance for the ICA is located at the bottom of The Duke of York steps, on the left hand side. Rail The nearest railway station is also at Charing Cross. Bus The following buses stop in nearby Trafalgar Square or Cockspur Street: 3,6,9,11,12,13,14,15,19,22,23,24,29,38,77a,88,91,139,159 and 176. Please note that there are no bus services operating on The Mall. Bicycle There are racks for parking bicycles at the top of the Duke of York steps. Car The main entrance is available for dropping off passengers but unfortunately parking is not permitted on The Mall. There are parking meters in Waterloo Place and Carlton House Terrace, at the back of the ICA. There are also car parks in Whitcombe St and Spring Gardens, both off Trafalgar Square.

Other information:

The ICA no longer charges for day admission. You can now access a wide range of innovative arts, ideas and culture on the Mall for free. This change to admission policy extends to all exhibitions and the ICA Bar Café before 11pm but not to ticketed events in the cinemas, theatre and Nash and Brandon Rooms. The box office has an induction loop system. The cinemas and theatre are equipped with an infra red hearing system. Headsets are available from the box office free of charge. Most talks at the ICA are also served by an infra red hearing system. Please check with the box office when making your booking.
