Organisation Background:
The Geffrye is one of London's most friendly museums. Its setting is in the former almshouses of the Ironmongers' Company, delightful 18th-century buildings with attractive gardens and mature trees. The Geffrye Museum explores the home over the past 400 years, from around 1600 to the present day. Our focus is on the living rooms of the urban middle classes in England, particularly in London. We aim to show how such homes have been used and furnished over this period, reflecting changes in society and patterns of behaviour as well as style, fashion and taste.

Opening Times:
Museum: Open Tuesday - Saturday 10am - 5pm Sundays & Bank Holiday Mondays 12 - 5pm Closed Mondays (unless Bank Holiday), Good Friday, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year's Day Almshouse: The almshouse is open on the first Saturday of the month. Admission is by timed entry at 11.00am, 12.00pm, 2.00pm and 3.00pm. (4.00pm tours from May to September only). Tickets are £2.00 for adults with free admission for children under 16.
